This month CTech Motorsport celebrate their one year anniversary of sponsor partnership with real world BTCC team sponsor Pirtek UK. In May 2014 CTech Motorsport was privileged to gain official sponsorship from Pirtek / Pirtek Racing making CTech Motorsport yet another of the many growing number of virtual race teams receiving sponsorship and backing from a real world company. Pirtek being the world leader in their field of hydraulic fluid transfer and transfer systems have sponsored many real world motorsport teams and events over the years but virtual racing sponsorship was a first for Pirtek. Amongst many benefits included in the sponsorship deal with Pirtek UK, CTech Motorsport was also granted official and sole use of the Pirtek logo / livery to use exclusively on all of the virtual team vehicles.
CTech Motorsport / Virtual Pirtek Racing would like to thank Pirtek UK, especially their Marketing Director for all the support received so far and look forward to continuing the partnership for many years to come. There is now an increasingly fast and ever growing amount of companies, brands and real world race teams now providing sponsorship and backing to the world of virtual motorsport, and virtual gaming in general. Companies, such as Pirtek, that have a forward and futuristic way of thinking who have gave backing to virtual race teams demonstrates a change in times, there is now a clear advertising benefit for real world brands supporting virtual motorsport due to the fact that technology has progressed at an alarming rate, people now spend more time online and many people and virtual teams now live stream virtual racing, upload race and gaming footage to YouTube and more recently have such virtual race championships broadcast on popular motorsport television channels such as MotorsTV thus allowing a greater number of people to see real world brand logos. Many virtual racing teams have over the past several years reported a huge interest and following in their own fan base as their real world racing counterparts do, effectively, virtual motorsports is now becoming a serious sport and with the addition of real world official motorsport governing bodies such as the MSA now recognising virtual motorsport the interest is only set to grow.
