CTech Motorsport are one of the teams that compete in The Online Racing Association (TORA) various virtual racing championships. CTech Motorsport currently run under the title of Virtual Pirtek Racing (VPR) to reflect being officially sponsored, supported & affiliated to Pirtek UK & British Touring Car team (BTCC) Pirtek Racing.
CTech Motorsport was originally founded in March of 2012 by three motorsport fanatic friends wishing to take part in the ever growing online world of virtual racing. CTech Motorsport currently consists of ten team members, one of which is a permanent full time founding member who take care of the teams livery requirements, tuning, social media, promotional media, sponsorship, website updating and general running of the virtual team, although one of the three team founders also takes on a permanent driving role and makes up the third team driver.
In the past CTech Motorsport has drafted temporary drivers & team members to help us when competing in some of the longer championships & events such as endurance racing. Future plans are to recruit additional permanent team members & grow the virtual team thus enabling us to branch into various other formats & disciplines of online motorsport.
CTech Motorsport competed in various iRacing championships on PC in mid to late 2012 before becoming part of The Online Racing Association. The Online Racing Association (TORA) is an online sim race organising website that create & oversee various formats of racing series & championships using the XBox One & XBox 360 consoles with Forza & ProjectsCARS as their event platforms. The Online Racing Association is also the first & only virtual racing organisation to be officially recognised & listed by the British MSA.
Several of the virtual racing teams that compete online have real world sponsorship from companies, brands & in some instances their real world counterpart race teams & in June 2014 CTech Motorsport was privileged to secure & announce official sponsorship & backing from real world British Touring Car Championship (BTCC) team sponsor Pirtek UK / Pirtek Racing which bestow CTech Motorsport various forms of support & sole exclusive rights to use the well known Pirtek Racing branding & logo on the Virtual Pirtek Racing cars. The partnership with Pirtek UK / Pirtek Racing continues to this day.
